Visit Shkoder, the town in “the last secret of Europe“, the country that spent so much time “behind the Iron Curtain“.

Shkoder on Bojana, one of the oldest cities in the southern part of Europe is surrounded by Shkoder Lake, and Bojana and Drim rivers. The symbol of the town is a combination of three different religious monuments situated at the very heart of Shkoder: an orthodox church, a cathedral and a mosque. They are symbols of hope, faith and reconciliation. Discover the history of The Rozafa Citadel that has dominated the city and defied time for more than 2000 years. Venetian masks recognizable by their decorations, decorated with jewels, crystals and feathers, refined and glamorous are a kind of work of art. Each has a name, symbol and purpose.

The trip starts at 7:00 am from Herceg Novi. The journey continues by ferry through Tivat and along the beautiful Budva Riviera. At the restaurant just above the famous town-hotel Sveti Stefan, we make a 20-minute break for some excellent photos of this iconic spot. Around 10:40 am we reach Sukobin, the border crossing between Montenegro and Albania, where a local guide will be waiting to join us. On the way to Shkoder, you will enjoy the scenic views of the Drim River. Upon arrival in Shkoder, you will have a 1-hour guided tour of the Rozafa Fortress, which dominates the city skyline and stands as one of the most important monuments in Albania. This is followed by approximately 2 hours for sightseeing of the gallery and workshop of Venetian masks and the city center, including three religious sites — a Church, a Cathedral and a Mosque. A 1-hour lunch break at a local national restaurant follows, after which you will have an additional hour of free time to explore. Around 4:00 pm we depart for Herceg Novi, with return planned around 8:00 pm.
